Engines, for which the 02G is used, have the necessary performance already from lower rpm but the 02G transmissions are so short that this advantage cannot be used. If you want to drive faster, you have to hold the vehicle in unnecessarily high revolutions.

This is why we are developing a procedure since longer than a year how to add a gear more to the gearbox 02G to create its 6-gear variant. The solution seems to be near.

The 02G transmission does not have any edge cover and many more special modifications are necessary inside the gearbox. We finish a prototype, which will be tested during a test drive in a short time.

All changes could be located in the original housing; only in one area, it had to be modified by adding material by welding. Inside the gearbox, there are numerous new parts and the inner space of the gearbox housing had to be modified, too.

Therefore, a kit of parts could not be created, which could be sent to the customer as this is the case with the 02A gear types. The customer interested in our modification will have to send the gearbox to our workshop. We will carry out the modification during 2-3 weeks and will send the gearbox back.

Another position will be necessary on the gearshift lever, the 6th gear will be in the position of the present reverse gear and the new reverse gear will be situated a little more to the right and to the rear.
